Demand for integrated talent management technologies is up and as global spending on these systems is expected to grow 22 percent to nearly $4 billion between 2012 and 2013, according to a recent study by Bersin & Associates.
The HR research provider states this rate of sales is almost twice what it was between 2011 and 2012.
HR services today are confronted with complex challenges, from managing a global workforce and competing to acquire the best talent to implementing recognition programs and overseeing benefits administration. Integrated talent management solutions help HR administration professionals hire better, manage performance results, distribute compensation, develop employees and coordinate succession.
"Few areas of technology have seen more change than talent management software after a year filled with mergers, acquisitions, new mobile applications and integration of disparate talent management functions," said Dr. Katherine Jones, the director and principal Analyst of Bersin's HCM Technology.
In an article for Forbes, Bersin president and CEO Josh Bersin claims talent management software is now crucial in the corporate HR atmosphere. Consulting and technology in the industry is booming. However, "talent management software does not create talent management," he writes.
Companies should consistently evaluate internal organization to determine the methods to hire, train and manage employees.
