Hot temp jobs and where to find them in 2015

On March 5, 2015, CareerBuilder released its latest study on temporary jobs and employment growth. The study reported on growing temporary jobs and divided them into two groups: jobs that pay $15 or more per hour, and those that pay less than $15 per hour. CareerBuilder found that 3 million people are employed in temp jobs today, and the temp workforce is expected to grow 3 percent this year from 2014. By taking last year's number of temporary workers in a given field and projecting them through to 2019, CareerBuilder was able to come up with a list of the professions that will see the most growth in the coming years.
"Temporary employment will continue on an upward trajectory as companies look for ways to quickly adapt to market dynamics," said Eric Gilpin, president of CareerBuilder's Staffing & Recruiting and Healthcare divisions. "Two in five U.S. employers expect to hire temporary or contract workers this year, which opens new doors for workers who want to build relationships with different organizations and explore career options."
Here is a handy list of the temporary jobs to watch out for in the coming years:
Computer systems analysts
The job with the No. 1 predicted growth that makes more than $15 an hour is computer systems analyst, coming in at a projected 19 percent increase through 2019. The median pay for this job is currently $39.15. U.S. News ranks this job No. 7 in their list of 100 best jobs in the country.
Accountants and auditors
Accountants and auditors are predicted to see the second largest job growth in the more-than-$15-per-hour category, with a 14 percent increase through 2019. The median pay for these jobs is $31.40 per hour.
Home health aides
Of the jobs that make less than $15 an hour, home health aides top the list with a projected 15 percent growth; this job pays a median $10.12 per hour.
Gaming dealers
This job will see a 14 percent growth, according to CareerBuilder. In the current market, the median pay is $9.22 per hour.
Where do we find the most temporary jobs?
The CareerBuilder report names Memphis, Grand Rapids, Indianapolis, Chicago and Nashville as the top five cities for temporary employment growth. The national average of concentration of temp jobs is 2 percent. Twenty cities had a higher-than-average temporary worker concentration, which is great news for the staffing world.
