Recruiters hiring…recruiters?

Recruiters are being sought after by companies more than ever, according to recent research from Wanted Analytics.

Specifically, more than 6,900 recruiting jobs were advertised online in March – a 62 percent year-over-year increase, and a shocking 219 percent rise from March 2009.

Fifty-six percent of recruiting ads were placed by corporate employees, while 44 percent were from staffing firms and third party recruitment agencies.

Philadelphia was the metro area that saw the greatest year-over-year job growth for recruiting positions, at 78 percent. New York, Chicago, Dallas and Boston have also seen impressive positive movement.

Essential job skills required of potential candidates included common functions – such as experience using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel), data mining and customer relationship management – and a few unique proficiencies, such as Java and CPA certification. The news source notes this is because computer design and CPA offices were among the industries most in need of recruiting services.

Another recent study from Wanted Analytics found that mobile marketing professionals have been highly desired by recruiters over the past 90 days, as more than 6,000 job ads were posted. The growth was attributed to the rise in SMS, MMS, mobile app, game downloads and mobile internet usage.
